Sisters

First Tummy Time

Callie and Tobin had their first "tummy time" on June 4. Callie seems to prefer laying on her stomach. Tobin prefers his back. They both are doing great during exercise times, though, moving their bodies all around. Sara and Jonas love it when Callie and Tobin are on the play mat. They both take turns showing them toys and loving them.

Buddies

Callie and Tobin really seem calmer and to sleep better when they are near each other. I know it makes sense and that is what I had heard about twins, but it is really cool to see how they respond to being near each other.

First Bath

June, 3 Callie and Tobin had their first baths. Neither one was very excited about it. Sara and Jonas were both excited to help out, though :)

The Happy Parents

Going Home

Apparently, Callie and Tobin are too small for car seats that fit 5lb + children :) We had to improvise to make sure it was a snug ride for them. On our way out of the hospital, we had lots of people stop to check them out and ask questions about them. This could be interesting... Callie does not really like car rides, Tobin just sleeps through it all.

Keep you Forever

Sara and Jonas came up to the hospital Sunday and Monday night to meet and hang out with Callie and Tobin. They were both super excited to finally meet the babies we have been talking about so long. Sara said, "Oh, we will keep you forever." They are both amazing helpers and so good with the Callie and Tobin. We feel so blessed to have 4 amazing children. May they always enjoy being with each other :)

Callie Addison and Tobin James

Callie Addison was born on May 30, 2010 at 4:33 pm. She weighed 5 lbs. 11.5 oz and was 19 inches long. Tobin James was born on May 30, 2010 at 4:40 pm. He weighed 6 lbs. 6.3 oz and was 19 inches long.

Callie and Tobin Birth Story

I wanted to record the story of Callie and Tobin's births, so that I would remember and they would know. It was a sweet time, when God was definitely present. We were blessed that they were healthy and full term. My water broke at 8:00 on May 29. I didn't know that was what happened, though because it was a slow leak. We called our doula at 11 and she confirmed that was what it was. We spoke to my OB who advised going into the hospital and we got to the hospital at 1 am Sunday morning. I didn't think I was having any contractions, but I was. Things were progressing, so they admitted us to the hospital. By 10 am my OB was concerned that the contractions weren't getting stronger and my water had broken 14 hours before. We began talking about Pitocin, but she was willing to hold off. We were praying that things would kick in naturally and had a deadline of 2 pm. At 1:40, the contractions were frequent enough that they couldn't give Pitocin. The next 3 hours were super intense contractions. They took me to the OR for the actual delivery, but they let me stay on the hospital bed and allowed Jon and our doula, Eva, to come in to the room - both blessings :) I pushed for 13 minutes and Callie Addison arrived. I pushed 7 more minutes and Tobin James arrived. It was hard work, but so awesome to meet them. Jon, my mom and Eva were a huge support that made it all possible. Jon was great at encouraging me and being a calm presence. Thank you God for our beautiful babies!!

Birdhouse

Sara had painted a bird house a year and a half ago. This spring some birds moved into it. We never saw any babies, but we did see a mom going in and out. It was pretty cool to see the house being used.

Masters of the Swings

Sara and Jonas love swinging. It has been so fun having a swing set in our backyard :) They love playing on it. Jonas didn't like the swing at all until recently. He now prefers the big kids swings. Sara can get herself started and pump until she gets really high. They're getting bigger :)

Summer fun

Jonas received 2 sprinklers for his birthday. Turns out he doesn't like sprinklers :) Sara, however, loves them! Jonas does love the pool :)

Soccer

Sara has been playing her second season of soccer. She remembers many of the skills from the fall and has been enjoying learning more. She now has 2 jerseys, so one of her favorite things to do with Jonas is to play soccer. They both go downstairs and kick the soccer ball around. Jonas loves wearing the jersey (which is huge on him) and playing soccer like his big sis.
