Callie and Tobin 7 months old
Callie now weighs 15 lbs, 4 oz (20%) and is 26" (30%). Tobin is 17lbs, 7 oz (30%), and 27" (45%). They are so fun right now. Both of them love to laugh and smile. They are interested in everything going on around them. They are both starting to eat more baby food. Callie "sings" along when we sing songs. Tobin is starting to do a type of a wave. We are waiting on the results form Callie's biopsy and blood draw. She was such a trooper with those uncomfortable tests. She cried for just a minute and then cheered right back up. After these results, we ill either know that it is just cutaneous (skin) mastocytosis or go in for more tests (including bone marrow biopsy) to see if it is systemic. We're praying it is just skin. We met with the allergist who gave us a prescription for an epi pen. In the event she is allergic to stings or certian types of food she will have a more severe reaction, so we have to be prepared. We are thankful for her overall good health, and hoping for the best. Tobin will be seen by a neurologist this next week. Our pediatrician is concerned that he may have a mild case of hypotonia (floopy baby). It seems like we've had more than our fair share of Dr. appts. lately. I'm glad I have a flexible schedule :)
First Letter
Sara wrote her first letter all by herself. She and her Aunt Georgia are going to be pen pals. It's amazing to see how she's able to write so many letters!! The idea of receiving mail all her own makes her super excited!

Callie and Mastocytosis
Callie went to a pediatric dermatologist earlier this week and he confirmed that she has mastocytosis. She has a skin biopsy scheduled for next Thursday to determine if it is cutaneous (just skin) or systemic (organ &/or blood) related. We also have an appt. with an allergist scheduled to see what may be triggering the reaction. She does not seem bothered by the spots on her torso, which is good. We'll learn more soon. For now, we're trying to just take it one step at a time and not worry needlessly.
Jonas 2.5 years
Jonas went in his for 2.5 year doctor's appointment. He is 25 lbs. (6%), 34" (8%). We're thankful he's finally on the growth chart for weight!! He is doing great in every way. His imagination has really taken off. He loves playing with his cars, legos and dinosaurs. His vocabulary has increased a lot. He is really able to express his thoughts and feelings well. He's also working on testing limits, but for the most part is pretty good at listening to us. He recently discovered that he can get out of his toddler bed on his own, and can have his own opinion :)
